Description Of Jannah According To 33 Ahadith
Here’s a description of Jannah according to 33 ahadith. The description of Jannah is truly remarkable.
This post focuses on the features of Jannah, the inhabitants of Jannah, Al-Hoor Al-‘Ayn and Al-Kawthar.
1.

The Ghuraf.
Narrated Sahl:
Sahih al-Bukhari
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The people of Paradise will see the Ghuraf (special abodes) in Paradise as you see a star in the sky.”

Jannah will remain spacious.
Narrated Anas:
Sahih al-Bukhari
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “(The people will be thrown into Hell ( Fire) and it will keep on saying, ‘Is there any more?’ till the Lord of the worlds puts His Foot over it, whereupon its different sides will come close to each other, and it will say, ‘Qad! Qad! (enough! enough!) By Your ‘Izzat (Honor and Power) and YOUR KARAM (Generosity)!’ Paradise will remain spacious enough to accommodate more people until Allah will create some more people and let them dwell in the superfluous space of Paradise.”

What Allah has prepared for His righteous worshippers…
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“Allah said: ‘I have prepared for My righteous worshippers, what no eye has seen, nor ear has hear, and no human heart has conceived.’ So recite if you wish: No person knows what is kept hidden for them of delights of the eyes as a reward for what they used to do. And in Paradise there is a tree under whose shade a rider can travel for one hundred years without stopping. Recite if you wish: And in shade extended. And the space occupied by a whip in Paradise is better than the world and whatever is in it. Recite if you wish: And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception.”

The earth in Jannah is like white shining pure musk.
Abu Sa’id reported that Ibn Sayyad asked Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) about the earth of Paradise. Whereupon he said:
Sahih Muslim
It is like white shining pure musk.

The people of Jannah.
Abu Hurairah narrated from the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) that he said:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“The people of Paradise are without body hair, Murd, with Kuhl(on their eyelids), their youth does not come to an end, and their clothes do not wear out.”
6.
The Prophet’s (ﷺ) minbar in Jannah.
It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
Sunan an-Nasa’i
“The columns of this Minbar of mine will be in Paradise.”

The house of the builder of a masjid in Jannah.
Uthman bin Affan narrated that:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
he heard Allah’s Messenger say: “Whoever builds a Masjid for (the sake of) Allah, then Allah will build a similar house for him in Paradise.”

Superiority of rewards in Jannah.
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
Sahih al-Bukhari
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The people of Paradise will look at the dwellers of the lofty mansions (i.e. a superior place in Paradise) in the same way as one looks at a brilliant star far away in the East or in the West on the horizon; all that is because of their superiority over one another (in rewards).” On that the people said, “O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)! Are these lofty mansions for the prophets which nobody else can reach? The Prophet (ﷺ) replied,” No! “By Allah in whose Hands my life is, these are for the men who believed in Allah and also believed in the Apostles.”

When the inhabitants of Jannah desire a child.
Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“The believer, when he desires a child in Paradise, he shall be carried (in pregnancy), born, and complete his aging in an hour as he desires.”

The Black Stone.
Ibn Abbas narrated that:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
The Messenger of Allah said: “The Black Stone descended from the Paradise, and it was more white than milk, then it was blackened by the sins of the children of Adam.”
11.
- The people of Jannah won’t urinate, relieve nature, spit, or have any nasal secretions.
- Their combs will be of gold.
- Their sweat will smell like musk.
- They will use aloeswood.
- Houris will be sixty cubits tall.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Sahih al-Bukhari
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “…They will not urinate, relieve nature, spit, or have any nasal secretions. Their combs will be of gold, and their sweat will smell like musk. The aloes-wood will be used in their centers. Their wives will be houris. All of them will look alike and will resemble their father Adam (in stature), sixty cubits tall.”

The rivers of Jannah.
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Sahih Muslim
Saihan, Jaihan, Euphrates and Nile are all among the rivers of Paradise.

Gardens of Jannah.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Sahih al-Bukhari
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Between my house and my pulpit there is a garden of the gardens of Paradise, and my pulpit is on my fountain tank (i.e. Al-Kauthar).”
14.
Ajwah and the rock.
Rafi’ bin ‘Amr Al-Muzani said:
Sunan Ibn Majah
“I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “Ajwah and the rock* are from Paradise.’”
15.
The handkerchiefs of Sa’d bin Mu’adh in Jannah is better than the Prophet’s (ﷺ) silken garment.
Narrated Al-Bara bin Azib:
Sahih al-Bukhari
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was given a silken garment, and its beauty and delicacy astonished the people. On that, Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “No doubt, the handkerchiefs of Sa`d bin Mu`adh in Paradise are better than this.”
16.
The trees in Jannah.
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“There is not a tree in Paradise except that its tree is of gold.”
17.
If a houri from Jannah appeared to the people of the Earth…
Narrated Anas:
Sahih al-Bukhari
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “A single endeavor (of fighting) in Allah’s Cause in the afternoon or in the forenoon is better than all the world and whatever is in it. A place in Paradise as small as the bow or lash of one of you is better than all the world and whatever is in it. And if a houri from Paradise appeared to the people of the earth, she would fill the space between Heaven and the Earth with light and pleasant scent and her head cover is better than the world and whatever is in it.”

Al-Jahannamiyin in Jannah.
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Sahih al-Bukhari
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Some people will come out of the Fire after they have received a touch of the Fire, changing their color, and they will enter Paradise, and the people of Paradise will name them ‘Al- Jahannamiyin’ the (Hell) Fire people.”

The beauty of what’s in Jannah.
Dawud bin Amir bin Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas narrated from his father, from his grandfather that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“If as little as what can be placed on a fingernail of what is in Paradise were to become apparent, it would have beautified all the far corners of the heavens and the earth. And if a man among the people of Paradise were to appear and his bracelets were to become apparent, it would have blotted out the light of the sun, as the sun blots out the light of the stars.”
20.
The seas in Jannah.
Hakim bin Mu’awiyah narrated from his father, that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“Indeed in Paradise there is a sea of water, and a sea of honey,and a sea of milk, and a sea of wine, then the rivers shall split off afterwards.”

The birds in Al-Kawthar.
Anas bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) was asked:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“What is Al-Kawthar?” He said: “That is a river that Allah has given me”- that is, in Paradise- ‘whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. In it are birds whose necks are like the necks of camels.” ‘Umar said: “Indeed this is plump and luxurious then.” So the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said, “Those who consume it are more plumb than it.”
22.
The lowest status in Jannah is equal to ten times the like of the world.
It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
Sunan Ibn Majah
“I know the last of the people of Hell who will be brought forth from it, and the last of the people of Paradise to be admitted to Paradise. (It is) a man who will emerge from Hell crawling, and it will be said to him: ‘Go and enter Paradise.’ He will come to it and it will be made to appear to him as if it is full.’ Allah will say: ‘Go and enter Paradise.’ He will come to it and it will appear to him as if it is full. So he will say: ‘O Lord, I found it full.’ Allah will say: ‘Go and enter Paradise.’ He will come to it and it will be made to appear to him as if it is full. So he will say: ‘O Lord, I found it full.’ Allah will say: ‘Go and enter Paradise, for you will have the like of the world and ten times more, or you will have ten times the like of the world.’ He will say: ‘Are You mocking me, or are You laughing at me, when You are the Sovereign?’” He said: “And I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) smiling so broadly that his molar teeth could be seen.” And he used to say: “This is the lowest of the people of Paradise in status.”
23.
A pavilion in Jannah.
Narrated `Abdullah bin Qais:
Sahih al-Bukhari
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “In Paradise there is a pavilion made of a single hollow pearl sixty miles wide, in each corner of which there are wives who will not see those in the other corners; and the believers will visit and enjoy them. And there are two gardens, the utensils and contents of which are made of silver; and two other gardens, the utensils and contents of which are made of so-and-so (i.e. gold) and nothing will prevent the people staying in the Garden of Eden from seeing their Lord except the curtain of Majesty over His Face.”

- The first group to get into Jannah will be glittering like the full moon.
- The next group will be glittering like the most brilliant star in the sky.
- No one will feel enmity nor jealousy.
- Every man will have two beautiful wives in Jannah.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Sahih al-Bukhari
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The first batch (of people) who will enter Paradise will be (glittering) like the full moon, and the batch next to them will be (glittering) like the most brilliant star in the sky. Their hearts will be as if the heart of a single man, for they will have neither enmity nor jealousy amongst themselves; everyone will have two wives from the houris, (who will be so beautiful, pure and transparent that) the marrow of the bones of their legs will be seen through the bones and the flesh.”
25.
The martyr in Jannah.
It was narrated from Miqdam bin Ma’dikarib that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
Sunan Ibn Majah
“The martyr has six things (in store) with Allah: He is forgiven from the first drop of his blood that is shed; he is shown his place in Paradise; he is spared the torment of the grave; he is kept safe from the Great Fright; he is adorned with a garment of faith; he is married to (wives) from among the wide-eyed houris; and he is permitted to intercede for seventy of his relatives.”
26.
Khadija’s palace of jewels in Jannah.
Ismail reported:
I said to ‘Abdullah b. Abi Aufa: Did Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) give glad tidings of Paradise to Khadija? He said: Yes. He did give glad tidings to her of a palace of jewels in Paradise wherein there would be no noise and no toil. Sahih Muslim
27.
Men will have the strength of a hundred.
Anas narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“The believer shall be given in paradise such and such strength in intercourse.” it was said: “O Messenger of Allah! And will he able to do that?” He said: “He will be given the strength of a hundred.”
28.
The vessels of the Hawd.
Abu Dharr narrated:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! What about the vessels of the Hawd?’ He said: ‘By the one in Whose Hand is my soul! Its vessels number more than the stars of the heavens and the planets on a clear dark night. (They are) among the vessels of Paradise, whoever drinks from them, he will never be thirsty again. Its longest breadth is the same as its length, like that which is between ‘Amman to Aylah, its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey.'”
29.
The Prophet’s (ﷺ) river in Jannah.
Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah said:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“While I was traveling through Paradise, a river appeared before me whose banks had tents of pearl. I said to the angel: ‘What is this?’ He said: ‘This is Al-Kauthar, which Allah has granted you.’” He said: “Then he put his hand in the clay, and removed musk from it, then I was raised up to Sidrat Al-Muntaha so I saw a magnificent light at it.”
30.
- There are one hundred degrees in Jannah.
- The largest and highest part of Jannah is The Firdaus.
- The Throne of Allah is at the top.
- Rivers of Jannah gush forth from Allah’s Throne.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Sahih al-Bukhari
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Whoever believes in Allah and His Apostle offers prayers perfectly and fasts (the month of) Ramadan then it is incumbent upon Allah to admit him into Paradise, whether he emigrates for Allah’s cause or stays in the land where he was born.” They (the companions of the Prophet) said, “O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)! Should we not inform the people of that?” He said, “There are one-hundred degrees in Paradise which Allah has prepared for those who carry on Jihad in His Cause. The distance between every two degrees is like the distance between the sky and the Earth, so if you ask Allah for anything, ask Him for the Firdaus, for it is the last part of Paradise and the highest part of Paradise, and at its top there is the Throne of Beneficent, and from it gush forth the rivers of Paradise.”
31.
Horses in Jannah.
Abu Ayyub narrated that a Bedouin came to the Prophet (s.a.w) and said:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi
“O Messenger of Allah, indeed, I love horses. Are there horses in Paradise?” The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: “If you are admitted into Paradise, you shall be brought a horse of rubies with two wings, then you shall be carried on it, then it will fly with you wherever you want.”
32.
Eating and drinking in Jannah.
Jabir said:
Sunan Abi Dawud
I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: Those who go to Paradise will eat in it and drink.
33.
There won’t be anything more delightful than looking at Allah in Jannah.
It was narrated that Suhaib said:
Sunan Ibn Majah
“The Messenger of Allah recited this Verse: ‘For those who have done good is the best reward and even more.’ Then he said: ‘When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, and the people of the Fire enter the Fire, a caller will cry out: “O people of Paradise! You have a covenant with Allah and He wants to fulfill it.” They will say: “What is it?” Has Allah not made the Balance (of our good deeds) heavy, and made our faces bright, and admitted us to Paradise and saved us from Hell?” Then the Veil will be lifted and they will look upon Him, and by Allah, Allah will not give them anything that is more beloved to them or delightful, than looking upon Him.'”
